Phuket FantaSea

An impressive facility has been entertaining visitors to Phuket for many years now, and although at first instance would seem touristic, it is quite special and worth considering for large programs or accompanying persons activity.

Inspired by Thailand's exotic heritage, Phuket FantaSea not only showcases the charm and beauty of Thailand, but also enriches ancient Thai traditions with the wonder of cutting edge technology and special effects. The result is a stunning 140-acre cultural theme park that has become the ultimate in nighttime entertainment on the resort island of Phuket.

Created at a cost of US$100 million, Phuket FantaSea offers a multitude of attractions not found anywhere else in the world including a shopping street where the accent is is on fun and entertainment, coupled with the Thai's legendary hospitality; the grandest 4,000 seat dining facility offering feasts of royal Thai dishes and popular international cuisine; a,000-seat state-of-the-art theater that houses an award-winning Las Vegas style theatrical production.

An escapade into Phuket fantasia is a fantastical adventure into Thailand's exotic myth, mystery and magic. "Fantasy Of A Kingdom" is an audio-visual extravaganza that for the first time anywhere, incorporates Thai culture with magical illusions, 4-dimensional in theater effects, aerial ballet, acrobatics, indoor pyrotechnics, special effects, elephant performances and stunts, into one unforgettable theatrical masterpiece that is guaranteed to thrill and delight.

From the first moment on, visitors are taken on a journey through Thai history, across its great regions, and discovering along the way the exotic songs and dance that make the kingdom so dazzlingly attractive. Mythology comes to life through the acrobatic antics of Hanuman and his monkey warriors, or the exquisite movements of the beautiful Kinnarees.

The host, the Prince of Kamala, brings illusions to life with great battles that seemingly blow up the stage or acrobats who fly through the air in an outstanding aerial ballet, and throughout it all, the magical elephants haunt the stage, appearing and disappearing at will in a masterpiece of illusion that is in a class of its own.

Siam Niramit, The Must-See Show of Thailand

While high end incentive planners prefer unique events not normally accessible and staged exclusively for a program, some of Thailand's large scale production shows are worth considering, especially if the venue can be used exclusively for a large event or congress.

Siam Niramit, a world class performance highlighting the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Thailand is performed on a gigantic stage, 65m/200ft wide, now listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Located in the heart of Bangkok with a 10-acre area, this magnificent show, staged in a purpose-built 2,000-seat theatre, features over 150 performers and includes as many as 500 costumes and 100-set pieces of elaborated scenes. Enhanced special effects with the world's most advanced technology are used to produce a stimulating and inspiring 'Journey to the Enchanted Kingdom of Siam'.

Opened in 2005, Siam Niramit is a world class venue suitable for plenary sessions, award ceremonies complemented by visually stunning cultural entertainment. Dining can be indoor for up to 1,000 or outdoor in a Thai Village theme for 2,000 guests with interactive cultural demonstrations and activities. Coach transfers from most hotels are within 30 minutes.

As a journalist puts it: "Think Cirque du Soleil plus Italian Grand Opera and Classical Thai Dance Dressed by Las Vegas Costumers and Staged by Hollywood", Siam Niramit can impress with an evening to remember for programs to Thailand. Dine in the Sky

Bangkok consistently adds upscale dining venues on building rooftops with great views and cool air.

New are the stunning outdoor Red Sky Bistro with Martini Bar and Wine Bar, and Fifty Five finedining restaurant on the 55th floor of the Centara Grand at Central World with 250 and 122 seats respectively. Worthy of note is the 2-storey glass walled wine cellar.

The artistic Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa boasts SkyDine on 25 in industrial hip structure and industrial art design concept on the 25th floor rooftop with 1 bar and 2 restaurants. The Roof is Bangkok's first stone grill al fresco restaurant with 130 seats, the 50-seat La Vue offers classic French & Mediterranean signature dishes, complemented by the Roof Champagne & Wine Bar with 60 seats.

V9 on 37th floor of the Sofitel Silom is a wine bar with a difference, offering a fantastic selection of wines and a view to go with.

Although Vertigo on the 62nd floor rooftop of the Banyan Tree seats 150 on the various terraces, plus the Moon Bar, we have on several occasions brought 300-up guests for standing receptions. Great flexibility, outstanding service and foods to die for are hard to resist, not to mention the unblocked panorama.

Perhaps with highest profile publicity is the Sirocco which would accept no more than 20 diners in a group at this exceptional restaurant which is part of The Dome on the 63rd floor of State Tower. For groups, pre dinner drinks at the Flute Bar would be a great start, followed by dinner in privacy at the State Room on the 67th floor under the rotunda, suitable for an awards dinner.

Contemporary, elegant, and sophisticated, the 120-seat D'Sens is the true gourmand's delight, modeled from the Pourcel brothers' two-Michelin-Star awarded Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier. It is on the 22nd floor of the Dusit Thani which was Bangkok's first high rise

commanding a view of Lumpini Park since late 1960's.

The advantage of Three Sixty on the 32nd floor of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok hotel on the west side of the river is that it really has a panoramic view of Bangkok skyline. It has 120 seats and serves light meals and cocktails.

An evening of skyhopping or even progressive dine around can be planned, featuring venues high up and taking in views of Bangkok from different angles.
